Visit to Dye & Weave Ateliers - 2 hours

This experience offers a very unique opportunity to go off the beaten track and see behind the scenes of our work at Atelier Talasin!
We begin with a visit to our first atelier, offering an introduction and history to the philosophy and techniques we use to hand craft our rugs and what makes us distinctly unique, not only in Morocco, but anywhere else in the world. You will see examples of the carpets we produce and visit the dye masters at work in the rooftop dye studio.
We will then take you to our weaving atelier in the nearby village of Ait Moulay where the weavers live and work. Here you can watch them prepare and hand spin the wool and even have an opportunity to sit at one of the looms and learn how to make the unique Berber knot used in our carpets. The tour will include a walk through the village followed by tea in one of the weaver’s homes whilst getting a henna tattoo offered by a local artist.
Percentage of the cost of the visit goes towards the weaver's cooperative which finances social projects in the community, including reading and writing classes for the weavers.
